Craft Group
In January 2020 Gilgal started a new craft group which meets on the 2nd and 4th Thursday in the month from 2pm until 4pm.  This group is open to anyone who wants to come whether they attend the church or not.  The idea is to enable people (men as well as women) to meet together to do their knitting, crocheting, embroidery, quilting or whatever is their passion whilst sharing conversation, expertise and ideas over a cup of tea or coffee and a biscuit.

This new group is an extension, if you like, of what has been, for the last 13 years, the Banner Group.  This is a group which was originally formed with the aim of making banners to enhance the bare walls of the church.  This they did and examples of their work still decorate our walls and are greatly appreciated by the Fellowship.  We have sent banners to Kenya, Peru and Uganda where they are used to great effect in churches there which are supported by our church in one way or another. Currently the Banner Group is part of the new Craft Group and recently took on a  new project to commemorate 150 years of Gilgal Baptist Church in Porthcawl during 2022.

The new Craft group has got off to a good start and has 25-30 people attending. So far all our attendees are women but men, if they have an interest in craft of any kind, would also be welcome.
